The Minimum Skincare Routine That Actually Works
Skincare is overwhelming. There are thousands of products and a thousand new trends a year. But the truth: 90% of glow comes from 10% of products, used consistently. Here's the actual minimum.
The Morning Routine (4 Steps)
1. Gentle Cleanser
Skip if you washed last night. Otherwise: lukewarm water, gentle cleanser.
2. Vitamin C Serum
Brightens, fights damage. Apply to damp skin.
3. Moisturizer
Lightweight, gel-based. Locks in the serum.
4. SPF — Non-Negotiable
Even indoors. Even cloudy. SPF 30+ is the most powerful anti-aging tool you have.
The Evening Routine (4 Steps)
1. Double Cleanse
Oil cleanser first, then water-based. Removes makeup, sunscreen, and pollution.
2. Toner or Essence (Optional)
Skip if your skin's not dry.
3. Treatment
Retinol 2–3x a week, or niacinamide nightly. Not both at once.
4. Heavier Moisturizer
Skin repairs at night.
Once a Week
- Exfoliate (chemical, not scrubs)
- Hydrating mask
- Facial massage with EMS or guasha tool
What's Overrated
10-step routines, 'glass skin' challenges, expensive luxury creams. Consistency beats complexity.
